Alicia Berkemeyer

Biography

Alicia Berkemeyer is responsible for medical management and provider programs for Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield. She oversees network management, case management, utilization management, pharmacy, value contracts, quality programs and behavioral health.

Berkemeyer joined Arkansas Blue Cross in April 1989 in operations. She has experience in areas of operations, marketing, sales, pharmacy, clinic operations and value-based transformation. She has led and managed the development of patient-centered medical homes, employer clinics, accountable care organizations and pharmacy programs.

Berkemeyer played an instrumental role in Arkansas being chosen as one of only seven regions in the United States to participate in the federal Comprehensive Primary Care initiative. This work has continued to support the state work in multiple partnerships with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation. Arkansas is currently one of four states chosen as a State Transformation Collaborative. She is passionate about her work with multi-payer and stakeholder collaboration to improve healthcare.

She is a certified health consultant, a managed healthcare professional and a Professional in the Academy of Healthcare Management. She is active in many industry organizations. She currently serves on the Cystic Fibrosis Board and the University of Arkansas Little Rock Business Advisory board along with Health Advantage and USAble Corporation.

Berkemeyer holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational management from John Brown University. She completed the Kellogg Advanced Management Global Program and is an Executive Scholar of Northwestern Kellogg School of Management.
