Emergency assistance provided by Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield to those affected by recent storms

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (April 3, 2025) — Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield and its family of companies are making assistance available to members affected by the tornadoes on Wednesday, April 2, as well as those impacted by the recent deadly storms in North Arkansas. This includes members covered by Arkansas Blue Cross, Health Advantage, Octave Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and BlueAdvantage Administrators of Arkansas.

“Arkansas is no stranger to dangerous, severe weather. Many families and communities have a difficult road ahead as a result of recent storms,” said Arkansas Blue Cross President and CEO Curtis Barnett. “We want our members and communities to know we are here for them and will continue to monitor for any additional needs that might arise in the coming days as the potential for severe weather continues.”

For members impacted by the most recent storms and tornadoes in Arkansas, Craighead, Independence and Sharp Counties, the following assistance is available:

COUNSELING SERVICES

Emotional support is available through a dedicated crisis line. To speak with a licensed clinical professional 24/7 – free of charge – call 1-833-848-1766 or 1-833-848-1764 toll-free through April 17.

PRESCRIPTIONS

Affected members can also obtain a one-time, 10-day emergency refill on maintenance medications. Members taking specialty medications will be contacted to discuss alternate delivery arrangements, if needed.

Members who have questions about medication deliveries should call the customer service number on their member ID card or call:

  • BlueAdvantage Administrators of Arkansas (for members who use our prescription drug benefits with CVS Caremark): 1-888-293-3748.

LOST ID CARD

If a member has lost an ID card, an electronic ID can be downloaded using the Blueprint Portal Mobile app, which can be found in the app store or Google Play.

OTHER ASSISTANCE

For all other needs, members should call customer service at the phone number located on the back of their member ID card. Those needing in-person help with benefits information or ordering a replacement ID card can visit one of their nearby ArkansasBlue Welcome Centers.
